Bronny James, son of NBA icon LeBron James, expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him after making his college debut for Southern California nearly five months after suffering a cardiac arrest.
James suffered a cardiac arrest on July 20 during a workout at the Galen Center, and it was revealed that he had a treatable congenital heart defect. He was recently cleared by his doctors and USC medical staff to participate in full-contact training after previously being restricted to individual workouts, weightlifting, cardio, and shooting.
The 19-year-old guard scored four points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out two assists on Sunday, coming off the bench to play in front of his superstar father but couldn’t prevent the Trojans from losing to Long Beach State 84-79 in overtime.
