Shake Shack has cooked up a sizzling offer in celebration of the Academy Awards, enticing burger enthusiasts with a tantalizing giveaway. In a bid to rival In-N-Out as the go-to post-award ceremony dining spot, the beloved New York-based burger chain rolled out a promotion based on the predicted duration of the Oscars telecast.
On their website, Shake Shack invited patrons to partake in an “award-worthy guessing game” during Hollywood’s grandest night, prompting speculation about the length of the spectacle. After crunching the numbers with the assistance of the marketing agency Known, Shake Shack boldly forecasted that the Oscars would span a lengthy three hours and 31 minutes. Their calculation, a blend of recency-weighted time series and meticulous analysis of various show components, formed the basis for their wager.
Anticipating potential outcomes, Shake Shack set the stakes: If the ceremony surpassed their predicted time, customers could score a complimentary Chicken Shack with any purchase over $10. However, if the event fell short of their projected 211-minute mark, patrons would be treated to the coveted SmokeShack burger, featuring succulent Angus beef topped with bacon, cherry peppers, and ShackSauce.
But, like any enticing offer, there are conditions to heed. The promotion kicks off today and runs until March 18, requiring guests to place a $10 order using the code “BIGWINS” via Shake Shack kiosks, their mobile app, or website. Notably, this offer is not valid at Shake Shack locations in airports, stadiums, arenas, travel plazas, or museums. Additionally, certain add-ons like bacon and avocado aren’t included in the deal. While patrons are limited to one free item per order, there’s no cap on how many times you can claim the deal throughout the promotional period.
Special arrangements were also made for nominees, who were treated to complimentary ShackBurgers at Shake Shack’s West Hollywood location upon presenting proof of ID. The branch underwent a glamorous transformation, decked out with a red carpet, dazzling lights, and surprise moments to delight guests over the weekend.
